Climate change presents a new set of challenges for Australian businesses. Tabled
for legislation is a carbon dioxide emission trading scheme. The Government will
be collecting funds and initial contributions are expected to be collected from
business emitters.
What does this mean for business emitters such as those from the transport sector?
The bulk of transport emissions in Australia come from personal travel. But the
growth of emissions from freight transport
is still greater. The transport sector has been identified as the second fastest
growing sector to be emitting greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions.
Your business can start by understanding the external risks that may affect your
fleet or freight operations. A tool that can help you understand the environmental
impacts from your fleets' operation is the Greenpath
Commercial Calculator. Our emissions calculator will help Fleet, Operations
and Environment managers calculate the fuel usage, costs and the GHG emissions from
the operations of their vehicles.
The calculator is offered to you for FREE. You can download it as a Microsoft Excel
application and save it on your desktop.
